Let's Read a Good Book.......Christmas Cupcake Murder(Hannah Swensen, #26) by Joanne Fluke

Christmas Cupcake Murder (Hannah Swensen, #26)

The Christmas Cupcake Murder is (Hannah Swensen, #26) and I have read 25 of them.   Since Hannah has been married and done wrong, I was ready to see where that would take her ( hopefully into Norman’s arms) but instead this books takes us back to the early years.   If you are a Hallmark Christmas Movie fan then this is the book for you. It has a holiday spirit, wonderful recipes, interesting characters, and a really good mystery. The plot is light and sweet and unlike the others in the series there is no murder.   This Christmas time cozy mystery is about a nice guy who has lost his memory and the whole gang pitches in to help him regain it.  As always I enjoyed my time with Hannah and this group of characters, although I did miss Hannah’s little sister who is one of my favorites, and I look forward to the next book in this series.

Let's Read a Good Book......"Holding Out for Christmas" by Janet Dailey

Holding Out for Christmas

"Holding Out for Christmas" by Janet Dailey  is a book you can curl up and get lost in.
If you are a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies you will love this book and Hallmark should jump on it for the up coming season.  The characters are enjoyable but the book reads like it might be part of a series although it is not listed as such.  There is history behind the supporting characters that might also be interesting to explore.  This  is definitely a feel good book.
Thank you  Kensington Books  and  NetGalley  for a copy of this book.

Lets Read a Good Book..........? My Word by Gizelle Bryant

My Word

My Word by Gizelle Bryant

This book was slow but interesting.  I read it because of the "Real Housewife" author.  I don't know how much was autobiographical but it a very sad commentary  of the African American church community ( maybe all church communities) and it's views about sins, cover-ups and money.

Let's Read a Good Book...........NOT !

Wish List

Wish list by Fern Michaels
First this is an old book brought back which would have been ok if they had updated it a little but they were lazy and left it with cigarettes and CB radios.
Second  this book reads  more like a junior high short story than a novel.    This is by far one of the worst books I have read and    it was one of the dumbest story lines I have ever read.
If you can believe an actress buys a trucking company and then decides  to learn how to drive the big rigs plus all of Hollywood comes to pick fruit when she calls then you will love this book.  (  Lots of BIG names got dropped here which just made the book sound more far fetched. )  Along with the fact that all her ex husbands gave her lots of money and they all stayed best friends…..
It had no depth, and I had no loving feelings about any of the characters and the story is so choppy it feels like it was sentences thrown in to the air and where ever they landed they were written in to the story.

Lets Read agood Book....."Truth and Justice" (Sisterhood #31) by Fern Michaels

Truth and Justice

"Truth and Justice" is (Sisterhood #31) by Fern Michaels and I have read and enjoyed all 31. The Vigilantes  ( the Sisters)    will take on a case for the underdog and  right the wrongs done against them.   I read this books wishing , as always, that the Vigilantes really existed and they were working on the side of good in real life.  They are  modern  day heroes.  In this book the case was  harder to unravel for the sisters and there was less information about the end punishment for the villain or the money distribution than in some of the earlier books.    I also thought we were left hanging about the identity of the  villain.   It was eluded to the fact that she was not the biological child of her "mother" but we were never given any details.  I kept thinking the sisters were going to discover something that would clear that up but it was never mentioned.
This is one of my favorite series and I love all the characters and enjoy every time I get to catch back up with them.
Thanks to Netgalley and to the publisher for this ARC.
