Let's Read a Good Book........The Newcomer by Mary Kay Andrews

 The Newcomer

The Newcomer by Mary Kay Andrews

I love a Mary Kay Andrews book.  They are great beach, vacation or curling up on a rainy day reads. And this is one I did not want to lay down.    Mary Kay always picks amazing settings and characters you will love and those you will love to hate along with the secondary characters who bring a lot of interest to the book.  This book is a murder mystery with a little romance, a lot of love and a couple of sharp turns.

Thanks to St. Martin's Press and netgalley for a copy of this book.

Let's Read a Good Book..... The Restoration of Celia Fairchild by Marie Bostwick

The Restoration of Celia Fairchild: A Novel

The Restoration of Celia Fairchild  by Marie Bostwick  was one of the best books I have read in a while.
First,  I loved the characters from the very first page and would love to have a besty  like Celia and her bff Calvin.  Second, it was set in Charleston, which I love, and I enjoyed the memories of walking down Kings Street and eating at Poogan's Porch.  The characters feel like normal, every day people,  with lives full of ups and downs, the way they all come together and become friend and family will leave you feeling good with a big smile on your face and a happy heart.   This is a book you NEED to read!

Let's Read a Good Book......Wrapped Up In Christmas Joy by Janice Lynn

Wrapped Up in Christmas Joy

Wrapped Up In Christmas Joy by Janice Lynn

This is a sweet romance that would be perfect for curling up with after the hub bub of Christmas.   The characters are interesting and enjoyable,  this is the perfect Hallmark movie book.  The author wraps the story around the Quilts of Valor Foundation.   ( The Mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. )  This is a story of a vet that needs to feel lovable and a quilter that seeks to do that.
If you want a book that leaves you feeling happy, this is a must read.

Thank you to #NetGalley and #Hallmark publishing for allowing me to read and review this ARC.

Let's read a good book.....Boone (Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas #3) by Emily March

Boone (Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas)

Boone  (Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas #3)   by Emily March.  This was my first Emily March book but it will not be my last.  The characters are all lovable and the story will suck you in and grab hold of your heart til the end.  Although this book works fine as a stand alone, I enjoyed it so much I want to read the first two books in the trilogy.  Even though this is a story with much   loss, it is much more a story full of love and hope.   The only negative is I felt the story left us hanging with the grandparents law suit story line.  It is mentioned once then never again.  There is one line about a grandmothers’ presence but since Boone’s mother is also a grandmother there is no clear distinction.  It would have been clearer to the reader if it had at least read “ Bri’s other grandmother” but I do think the reader deserved at least a page to clear up the whole situation or it should not have been thrown in at all.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for allowing me to read this book.
